Alumni Engagement

Political advocacy: Retain the specialized high school admissions test as the sole criterion for entry to the specialized high schools because multiple measures and subjective criteria threaten the academic fabric of our school.

Annual Career Day:  150 alums came back to Tech to speak to classes;  4700 students were part of the event.

Ruby Engineers Club: provides support and leadership activities for our young women.  A recognition luncheon is held in March to commemorate Women in History month. Tech alumnae and current Tech young women have a chance to meet and network.

Homecoming:  Once a year, the Foundation celebrates the anniversary classes by hosting two days at the school. Alumni meet the principal and his cabinet, visit classes, tour the building and of course, reconnect with their classmates and former teachers.

Annual Recognition Dinner: Alumni Foundation hosts a dinner where alumni and friends of Tech are honored in five different categories: Distinguished Alumni; MVP Sports Distinguished Alumni; Younger Alumni; Service; Faculty Emeritus.

Board to Board Dinner: The current Board of Directors meets with the student boards of the Student Government Organization and the National Honor Society.

Commencement: The Alumni Foundation's Executive Director is part of the planning team and regalia for the academic processional. The Foundation sponsors the academic processional and after graduation collation.
