On February 15, 2017 the Brooklyn Tech Alumni Foundation will host its Annual Brooklyn Tech Celebration, where we will honor alumni, retired faculty and friends who have helped build and sustain Tech’s extraordinary history of excellence. The evening will be marked with Achievement Awards presentations and will provide ample time for everyone to network and enjoy the festivities.
Below please find an explanation of the awards:
Recognizes alumni who have achieved high levels of excellence in their career fields or academic area and have in some way given back to the community (either the Tech community specifically or other aspects of society).
1. Professional Achievement: The recipient attained prominence in his or her chosen career, as recognized by contemporaries and demonstrated through other awards or other means of distinction.2. Service to Society: The recipient exhibits commitment to service through an interest in bettering the lives of others through volunteer efforts and leadership.3. Service and Support to Brooklyn Tech: The recipient's deeds and actions reflect pride in their alma mater and support of the school.4. The recipient must be a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School.
Recognizes talented alumni who have graduated from Tech not more than 25 years ago.
1. Professional Achievement: The recipient has reached a milestone in his/her career and attained some recognition for his/her performance in the career pathway.2. Service: The recipient exhibits commitment to service through volunteer efforts and leadership.3. Support to Brooklyn Tech: The recipient has in some way been connected to Brooklyn Tech through participation at events or activities. 4. The recipient must be a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School.
Recognizes alumni and/or others (non-alumni) who have strengthened and enhanced Brooklyn Tech and/or its community through outstanding contributions/service to Brooklyn Tech and/or its Foundation.
1. Service: The recipient exhibits strong commitment to working with Brooklyn Tech through volunteer efforts and leadership. These efforts are sustained over time and have benefitted students, faculty, Brooklyn Tech in general or alumni efforts.
For a retired faculty member, who was outstanding in his/her position as an assistant principal, teacher, guidance counselor, coach, faculty advisor, and/or mentor.
1. Service - at least 10 years of career time spent at Brooklyn Tech with exemplary service his/her position. 2. Retirement – five or more years from date of nomination.
