SIRACUSANO ’60 MENTORS YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS

More than 50 Tech students voluntarily deferred the start of a well deserved weekend recently to attend a lecture about entrepreneurship by Louis Siracusano ’60, the innovative creator of 49 companies, who enthusiastically shared the secrets of his success. Mr. Siracusano delivered a high energy, humorous and engaging presentation for more than an hour, as he inspired his young listeners to build enterprises. He spoke of his joy in creating businesses and mentioned a sign he proudly displayed on his desk which read “We’re here to solve problems.” He emphasized the importance of “mutual trust and respect,” and noted that his success could not have been possible without the loyal team of partners and employees he worked with for many years.

The event, part of the Feed the Mind lecture series, was organized by Tech’s Young Entrepreneur Association and the Alumni Foundation. Foundation CEO Matt Mandery '61 thanked Mr. Siracusano for generously agreeing to mentor future entrepreneurs and for sharing his “great passion and great insights.”

Siracusano is the senior chairman and CEO of Azzurro HD. He was co-founder and CEO of Video Services Corporation, which grew from a start-up in 1975 to more than $100 million in sales when sold in 2000. He has received numerous awards for his business and philanthropic efforts including “Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist,” “Ellis Island American Legend,” and “Excellence in Communications and Engineering” from WLIW-TV Channel 21.
