HOMECOMING 2010 TO BE HELD APRIL 23-24
Make
your plans now to join fellow Technites and faculty members at the Homecoming
2010 festivities scheduled for Friday April 23rd and Saturday April
24th.
You
will get to retrace the steps of your high school glory days as you walk the
hallways of Tech and share old stories with classmates and teachers. Special events are planned for the
anniversary classes of 1940, 1950, 1960, 1965, 1970, 1980, 1985, 1990 and 2000.
The
two day event kicks off Friday morning with a guided tour of Tech led by
retired faculty and Tech grads. Guests
will enjoy lunch at the world famous Juniors Restaurant and then return to Tech
to watch a student performance of “Sweeney Todd” in the newly restored
auditorium.
Saturday’s
schedule will offer you ample time to reminisce with former classmates and
teachers during breakfast in the 1st floor gym, to relive great
memories during a school assembly program in the auditorium and to be
entertained by current Tech students during lunch in the 7th floor
cafeteria. After lunch, club exhibits
and curriculum demonstrations will be offered by student and faculty in labs
and classrooms.
Last
year, almost 1,000 alumni, faculty and students attended Homecoming 2009. Among the attendees, Dibriel Ragsdale ’79
remarked that “It’s great to see the school changing with the times – the new
labs, the teacher training facilities.” Petula Lee ’89 was “…just so happy to see my
classmates. It was very emotional.”
A
block of rooms will be available at two neighborhood hotels for Homecoming
Weekend, and you are encouraged to make your reservations as soon as possible. Visit
the Brooklyn Tech Alumni Foundation website, www.bthsalumni.org,
for complete details and to register for Homecoming 2010.
